Surf-Scan

Surf-Scan is a general-purpose data acquisition and imaging system that uses your existing familiar portable field instrument as its front-end.  It will interface to any probe and NDT instrument that has an analog or digital output.  Surf-Scan uses an easy to deploy manual scanner and will inspect a wide variety of surface geometries.  Unlike most computer-based NDT equipment,  Surf-Scan leverages the operator's experience by using already familiar equipment and procedures to do the inspection. This maximizes the operator's probability of  success.  The computer images, stores and analyzes data, increasing the operator's productivity.  Only the simplest computer interactions are required and these are all performed using the world-wide standard Microsoft Windows user interface.
 
 
Surf-Scan consists of four independent components : 

    Field instrument 
    Manual scanner 
    Portable computer 
    The Surf-Scan Software Package

 Simple and Versatile front-end 
   Uses equipment that you already know:  your favorite field 
   instrument and the ever-present Microsoft Windows 
   compatible PC or laptop,  therefore, no training is required. 
   Will work with most common field instruments.  Digital  
   interfaces for most field instruments are available as an option. 
Versatile Scanner 
   The R-Theta scanner scans a full 360 degrees with a radius 
   of 6” to 38”  Surf-Scan will also interface to any 2-axis scanner 
   that uses encoders. 
Portable 
   All of the components are lightweight and can be battery 
   powered. 
Fast and Accurate 
   Uses high speed 16 bit A to D for reliable, accurate results 
   Results are displayed with a user definable 128 color palette. 
Cost effective 
   You purchase only the hardware configurations that suit your 
   needs, or you can obtain an economical site license for the 
   software only. 
Rugged 
   A rugged foam lined carrying case is provided so that the 
   entire Surf-Scan can be transported by a single individual.
